We develop affordable, multi-functional
live and work spaces that fundamentally contribute to societal improvement.

A development project's success should be determined by more than just its profitability.

To create a more equitable and sustainable future, we need to think critically about how we choose to steward, invest, and develop the physical spaces within our communities and learn to utilize their assets better - today.

Reverse-engineered real estate development

Our commitment to develop community-based affordable projects is our starting point. While others might start with the bottom-line and let the community be shaped by the development, our process begins by connecting with community stakeholders first to develop the kind of properties that is shaped by the community.

Circular local economy

The community and its members suffer when its assets are underutilized or inactive. When we successfully reinvest resources in the local neighborhood by strengthening the financial health of nonprofit land owners such as churches, prominent community assets are restored. These properties are then activated by strategically aligning them with the “right” programming partner tenants to its ensure the longevity and impact on the community is sustained.

What We Do

We don't tear down. We re-imagine, then we re-use what's already there.

Our Story

Founded in 2017, Cherie Ong, our principal, started Good Places out of a desire to see properties used for more than turning a profit for developers and their investors. With people at the center and community revitalization as the north star, Cherie and EJ set out to demonstrate innovative ways to develop real estate for the good of not only the landowners but the tenants and the neighborhoods they serve.
